Thomas Alessandra
Thomas Alessandra, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired federal government shipfitter.
He is survived by one son, Thomas Alessandro, two daughters, Jeanette Apple and Mary Ann Brelet, and one brother, Victor Alessandra, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Sadie Prezioso of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Vera Catenzaro of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Tove W. Allen
Tove W. Allen, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 25, 1933, in Skagen, Denmark. A resident for 30 years, she was very active in many community affairs and was president of Nevada Opera Theatre Guild, past president of the Las Vegas chapter of the Danish organization Rebild Park Society, a member of the Friends of Charleston Heights Arts Center, the Nevada Opera Theatre board of trustees and secretary to the board of Young Audiences. She was nominated for the Governor's Arts Award in 1997 and is listed in the yearly "Distinguished Women of Nevada" publication.
She is survived by her husband, John M.; one son, John W. Allen of Houston; two daughters, Julie T. Pruitt of Houston and Cathy B. Allen of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, and at the RSR LDS chapel. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Wednesday in the Francisco Park Ward on Palora Avenue. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City.
The family suggests donations to Nevada Opera Theatre's Tove Allen Scholarship Award or the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Myrtle Campoli
Myrtle Campoli, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was born June 2, 1911, in Hope, Ark. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired cook.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; one son, Donald Greening of Palm City, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at 127 McLaren St., Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Russell LeRoy Cohee
Russell LeRoy Cohee, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 26, 1919, in Coyle, Okla. A resident for 26 years, he was an operating engineer, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and Teamsters Local 112.
He is survived by three sons, Robert LeRoy Cohee of Midway, Ark., and Fred R. Cohee and John F. Cohee, both of Happy Jack, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Missouri.
Sharon Therese Engerman
Sharon Therese Engerman, 42, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A resident for eight months, she was born July 28, 1958, in Illinois.
She is survived by her parents, John and Virginia Engerman, and one brother, William Engerman, all of Las Vegas.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Rose Hoffman
Rose Hoffman, 94, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A retired jeweler, she was born May 31, 1906, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Lyman A. Lincoln
Lyman A. Lincoln, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Pennsylvania. A resident for seven years, he was a retired tool and die maker.
He is survived by his wife, Dora; two daughters, Carol Beecher of Kingman, Ariz., and Kathleen Clementi of Warren, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Alta G. Long
Alta G. Long, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 8, 1914, in Leamington, Utah. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Hudgins, Alta Hobbs and Priscilla Denison, all of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Long of Reno; one sister, Ila Meyers of Sacramento; one brother, Fay Strange of Kansas; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Roger K. Marsh
Roger K. Marsh, 46, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1954, in San Francisco. A resident for 20 years, he was a meat cutter at Albertson's and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; his mother, Elberta Askew of Gooding, Idaho; his father, Clint Marsh of Big Spring, Texas; four brothers, Chuck Marsh of Boulder City, Steve Askew of Scio, Ore., Jim Askew of Hagerman, Idaho, and Jeff Askew of Henderson; two stepsisters, Kathy of Oklahoma and Sheila of Missouri; and his grandfather, Jay Stiles of Lompoc, Calif.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Irene Silberman
Irene Silberman, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in New York. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Sydney; two daughters, Sue Ann Riccio and Carol Epstein, and one sister, Belle Silberman, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles Alberts of Florida; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
