Letter: Column cooks up sage advice
Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001 | 10:42 a.m.
Following the death of my husband in 1998, I moved to Odessa, Texas. Of course my recipes came with me. On my first Thanksgiving in Odessa I made the no-bake pumpkin pie for my new family of 15. It was a huge success and I have been making the no-bake pumpkin pie from the same recipe I cut from the Sun for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for the past 10 years. I have the original recipe taped to an index card (yellowed and spotted).
I wanted to thank the Sun for many hours of good, provocative reading and for making me the best no-bake pumpkin pie maker in Odessa.
