"The surgery was a complete success and he's doing extremely well," said Orleans spokeswoman Candi Cazau. "For the first time in about 17 years, he's not in pain."
Lewis, 74, had disc surgery, Cazau said Thursday. "He needs three or four weeks to recover."
Lewis canceled this week's performances and is now scheduled to perform March 22-25 at The Orleans.
Last August, the entertainer announced he signed a 20-year contract with The Orleans to perform at the off-Strip resort.
Lewis, who lives in Las Vegas, is scheduled to perform five times a year for four nights each.
