BRIDGEPORT, Ind. -- Caesars Indiana officials said they would consider doubling the capacity of the casino's hotel if state lawmakers approve dockside gambling legislation.
The dockside legislation was being debated in the Legislature today. Caesars is building a 500-room, $50 million hotel downriver from Louisville, Ky. But dockside gambling -- which would allow customers to come and go as they please rather than take two-hour cruises to gamble -- could generate considerably more business.
That has Caesars officials thinking that 1,000 rooms might be better than 500. Caesars is owned by Park Place Entertainment Corp. of Las Vegas.
