Officials: New airline needs more promotion

Officials told the Mohave County Airport Authority that Air Laughlin needs to sell about three times as many tickets as it has been.
"We need to get the usership up for this airline ASAP for it to continue," said authority member Larry Sinagoga. "If we don't in the next few months, we are back to ground zero. (That) will make it that much more difficult to ever have another airline in this area."
Air Laughlin started flying jets out of the Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport on Jan. 12 but it has limited money to spend on promotion.
Gambling resorts in neighboring Laughlin, Nev., budgeted $2.6 million to advertise the airline through February, said Andre Carrier, another authority board member.
He said it needs to be promoted by other businesses and area residents.
"(Air Laughlin) should be rolling off the tongues of people in the dental office and grocery stores," Carrier said.
Air Laughlin flies to Phoenix, San Jose, Ontario and Burbank.
