New casino proposed near Lake Havasu City

The development project would include a new casino, conference center, marina, RV park and golf course, the casino's general manager, Roger Shuttleworth, told the City Council on Tuesday.
Expansions to the existing casino would include 300 new Las Vegas-style games, Shuttleworth said.
He also asked the council to support the building of a second bridge across the Colorado River, just north of Lake Havasu City. He said last year the tribe shuttled about 150,000 passengers across the river.
Mayor Melanie Grinstead-Hanak supported forming a panel to evaluate the proposed development.
"Obviously, we don't have a whole lot of control over what they do over there," she said of the Chemehuevi. "I think the concern here is a bridge that connects us directly."
Shuttleworth said the project already has a developer and said he expects local banks to provide the financing.
