Oscar De La Hoya's return to boxing appears to be set, as the former world champion will take on Arturo Gatti March 24 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
De La Hoya, 32-2, has said he will fight once more at 147 pounds before advancing to the junior middleweight division. For his comeback fight he'll take on Gatti, who is 33-4.
The fight will be promoted by Univision Sports, as De La Hoya was recently freed from his contract with Top Rank.
Two other fights that will be held in Southern Nevada have also been solidified.
David Tua's fight with Danell Nicholson has landed at the Texas Station in North Las Vegas and will headline a March 23 card, the promotional firm America Presents announced Tuesday.
Tua, 37-2, will be fighting for the first time since a November loss to heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. He will face Nicholson, 39-3, in a 10-round bout.
Also, World Boxing Council welterweight champion Shane Mosley's fight with Shannon Taylor was formally announced for March 10 at Caesars Palace.
