Letter: Give Good a chance
Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 | 1:54 a.m.
The UNLV basketball players may feel like they are being hammered, but that is the way iron becomes steel. Watching these players develop and the team get better will make this season exciting.
To those fans wanting a big-name coach, I say we have been down that road, and it was not good.
Maxi-name (Rollie Massimino) demanded such an obscene salary he hid half of it from public view.
And for those outrageous wages he wrecked Rebel basketball almost beyond repair.
And to those who complain Bill Bayno was fired without cause ... well, he lost to Reno, didn't he?
I say shut up and give Max Good a chance to prove himself.
