Letter: Bring back the Babe
Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 | 1:55 a.m.
When the President of the United States is paid $200,000 a year and a man who throws a little, white sphere at a man carrying a stick is paid a million something, something is wrong with our priorities.
A family of four or five must shell out $100 or more to go to a ballgame to satisfy the outrageous salary demands of these prima donnas.
Then to compound the problem, they want a kid to pay for an autograph.
Most of today's professional athletes would not make a pimple on the backside on the likes of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.
