Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 | 11:27 a.m.
The UNLV men's tennis team will face two of the nation's top teams this week as it opens the 2001 dual-match season. The Rebels, who are unranked, take on 13th-ranked Southern California today in Los Angeles and face 14th-ranked Pepperdine on Friday in Malibu.
UNLV finished last season 8-14 but heads into the spring with the Mountain West Conference's highest-ranked singles player (No. 54 Nenad Zivkovic) and doubles team (No. 21 Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin), plus two transfers from the University of Oregon (Thomas Schneiter Leslie Eisinga) who are expected to bolster the lineup.
