Off-duty Washoe County sheriff’s deputy arrested for drunken driving

Deputy Joseph Fretz was booked for investigation of reckless driving and driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests.
Fretz was clocked at 98 mph in the 50 mph zone on Highway 395 and also was doing 98 in the 50 mph zone on the Mount Rose Highway.
The deputy who stopped Fretz asked the NHP to have a trooper handle the sobriety test and the arrest.
