Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 | 6:22 a.m.
A fouled computer board crashed the Motorola communications system Monday morning. It was restored late Tuesday after technicians replaced the component.
Emergency calls were forwarded to the Carson City Sheriff's emergency dispatch, which sent the message to Lyon County through a regular telephone line.
About 50 Lyon County calls came through during the down period. Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Page said none of the calls concerned life-threatening incidents.
