Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 | 6:25 a.m.
Fifty-five teenagers and nine chaperones from Douglas County represent the only band in Nevada and one of two in the western United States to be invited to the inauguration.
The band raised more than $65,000 to pay for airplane tickets, lodging and shipping of their instruments.
The band will be along the parade route. It will play before the parade and will be able to watch the event as spectators.
An earlier version of the band was in the nation's capital 12 years ago to play in the inaugural parade for the last President George Bush.
