LV television stations in litigation over weatherman
Monday, Jan. 15, 2001 | 11:20 a.m.
Valley Broadcasting doing business as KVBC Channel 3 NBC sued Journal Broadcast Corp. doing business as KTNV-TV Channel News 13 Inside Las Vegas and its weatherman, Nathan Tannenbaum, alleging he violated a non-compete contract when he began appearing on Channel 13's news and weather broadcasts Jan. 3.
KVBC Channel 3, which said Tannenbaum was hired on Sep. 1, 1997, and resigned on Dec. 13, 2000, sought an injunction in Clark County District Court to stop him from appearing on Channel 13 or any other television or radio station within a 60-mile radius of the Las Vegas market or for a one-year period after Dec. 13.
The defendants could not be reached for comment.
