Letter: Goodman pulls the wool over Ralston’s eyes
Monday, Jan. 15, 2001 | 9:26 a.m.
Regarding the Jan. 10 column, "Around mayor cynicism hasn't a chance," Jon Ralston must have had a lot of beefeater at the State-of-the-City soapbox; he appeared naive in reporting what he had been fed there from the Great Goodman's stage. The mayor needs to be watched because he pays redundant lobbyists to do what our four elected officials are supposed to do in Washington.
He wants a professional team of any kind housed in his Oscar Goodman edifice -- damn the cost to the taxpayer to enshrine them and him. He once held out for a basketball team simply because he played it. Now he says he will spend his time and our money trying to outshine the other politicians here on Yucca Mountain. Make no mistake about it, he is a professional actor in a class with P.T. Barnum, and what you see may not be what you get.
