Las Vegas police said they have not been able to determine the identity, age and sex of the dead person. The body might have been in the desert a year or more.
A woman brought Henderson police to the site Thursday after discovering the human skull on Wednesday.
The case was turned over to Las Vegas police because the body was found in their jurisdiction.
