Sandra D. Abrams, 55, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 19, 1945, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired executive director for the California State Bar.

She is survived by her mother, Beatrice Abrams, and two brothers, Frederic Abrams and Lewis S. Abrams, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Thursday and 1-2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Edward Baker, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 26, 1932, in Michigan. A resident for many years, he was a bar and restaurant owner and a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Mary of Yucaipa, Calif.; two brothers, Jim Baker of Tampa, Fla., and David Baker of San Bernardino, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Maxine M. Barnes

Maxine M. Barnes, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Sterling, Colo. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Dona Alexander of Dallas; one sister, Billie Rose Culley of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Edmund Bijak

Edmund Bijak, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Cleveland. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired art teacher and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; two sons, Edmund A. and Jon P.; two daughters, June E. and Nicolina; three brothers, Walter, Julian and Emil; one sister, Joyce; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Harold Bloodsaw, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1942, in Detroit. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a silk screen printer and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Idella Bloodsaw of Detroit; one son, Gregory Bloodsaw of Jackson, Mich.; four brothers, Richard Bloodsaw of Las Vegas, Rollie Bloodsaw of Los Angeles, James Bloodsaw of Gardena, Calif., and Claude Bloodsaw Jr. of Detroit; one sister, Allena Little of Detroit; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Larry Boquist Sr.

Larry Boquist Sr., 61, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1939 in Rock Island, Ill. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired sheet metal worker.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie; one daughter, Linda Crowl, and one son, Larry Boquist Jr., both of Henderson; two brothers, Ted Boquist of Oshkosh, Wis., and Joe Bosquist of Wautoma, Wis.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Ray W. Buchanan, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 20, 1925, in North Carolina. A resident for 19 years, he was a barber shop owner and a World War II Army infantry veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita; two sons, Michael Buchanan and Lawrence Buchanan, both of California; one brother, Clyde Buchanan of Canton, Ohio; and two sisters, Hedda Soverign and Martha Johnson, both of Montana.

Peter 'Rudy' Cascino

Peter "Rudy" Cascino, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Fredericksburg, Va. A resident for 15 years, he was a musician and a member of the Musicians Union.

Robert G. Cook, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born July 4, 1939, in New Denver, British Columbia. A resident for four years, he was a receiving manager.

He is survived by his wife, Carol A.; two sons, Robert A. Cook and Steven G. Cook, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Ernie Griffin of Big Bear, Calif.; three sisters, Kay Simmons and Barbara Blouin, both of British Columbia, and Janet Englen of Norwalk, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Edward Cordova, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Winslow, Ariz. A resident for 4 1/2 years, he was a retired contractor.

He is survived by five daughters, Grace Darlene Garcia, Rachel Ann Gallegos, Sandra Ann Cordova, Susan Marie Cordova and Maxine Ann Marie Cordova, all of Barstow, Calif.; three sons, Edward Cordova Jr. and Robert Anthony Cordova, both of Barstow, and David Ray Cordova of Winslow, Ariz.; his mother, Mary Cordova of Winslow; three brothers, Thomas Cordova and Frank Cordova, both of Winslow, and Richard Cordova of Las Vegas; and 30 grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Mike Donnelly of Winnetka, Calif., Sean Donnelly of Las Vegas, Brian Donnelly of Saudi Arabia and Kevin Donnelly of Chatsworth, Calif.; two daughters, Kathy Beal of Aptos, Calif., and Patty Donnelly of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty Belge of Syracuse, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Robert Leroy Dowling, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Adrian, Mich. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; four sons, Mark Dowling and Brian Dowling, both of Las Vegas, Kevin Dowling of Pioche and Scott Dowling of Johnstown, Pa.; one sister, Delores K. Clark of Tecumseh, Mich.; one brother, Tim Dowling of Dearborn, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

James E. Etling, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Canada. A resident for five years, he was a retired Air Force veteran, a member of the Shriners and Masonic Lodge 282 in Duluth, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; one brother, Norman Etling, and two sisters, Lois Etling and Eleanor Thompson, all of Canada.

Ruby Lee Hampton, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Randall, Miss. A resident for 40 years, she was a hospital caregiver.

She is survived by one son, Jimmie Drummond of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jardine Taylor; and four grandsons.

Paul R. Hartz Jr., 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 12, 1947, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 26 years, he was an accountant at a country club and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria M.; three daughters, Amy Hartz, Terri Hartz and Kristi Hartz, and one son, Paul J. Hartz, all of Las Vegas; his father, Paul R. Hartz Sr., and one brother, Timothy Hartz, both of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Leland N. Hayes Jr. of Tybee Island; one sister, Mary Bollinger of Washington, Utah; and two grandchildren.

James G. Rinker, 71, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 5, 1929, in Coplay, Pa. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of American Legion BMI Post 40, Air Force Sergeants Association, American Association of Retired Persons, charter member of the Air Force Memorial Society and a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Henderson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pauline; one daughter, Paula Carroll of Salt Lake City; three sons, James Rinker Jr. and Jeffrey Rinker, both of Las Vegas, and Phillip Rinker of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by one daughter, Imogene Ennis of North Las Vegas; two sons, William Sanders of San Pedro, Calif., and L.K. Sanders of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; one stepdaughter, Beth Yabrough of Concord, Calif.; one stepson, Scott Shepherd, and her stepmother, Mary Weinberg, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Weinberg of Chicago; and one grandchild.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick Michael Thorne and Daniel Charles Thorne, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, LaRae Turner and Frances Sawyer, both of Las Vegas, and Sherron Davis of Santaquin, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Katharina Trent, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Germany. A resident for 30 years, she retired as head housekeeper at Fitzgerald's and was a former member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Edith Trent, and one son, Steven LaFleur, both of Cicero, N.Y.; sisters and brothers in Germany; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A resident for eight years, he was an electronics engineer in instrument design for 50 years, a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, an amateur radio operator and a member of IEEE (an engineering society).

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary; one son, John Gavin Williams, and one sister, Virginia Wimer, both of California; one brother, Thomas Williams of Oregon; and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; three sons, Lawrence Wong, Leo Wong and Alexander Wong, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Janet Wong of California and Angela "A.J." Smith of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. services today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Entombment will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
