SUN CAPITAL BUREAU
CARSON CITY -- Nevadans who purchased several brands of contact lenses are being reminded by the state attorney general's office that they have until Jan. 31 to register to be eligible to receive a cash rebate and benefits package.
Those who bought replacement lenses from Johnson & Johnson Vision Products, Inc. (Vistakon), Bausch & Lomb and CIBA Vision after Jan. 1, 1998, may either call (888) 811-0385 or log on to www.contactlenssettlement.com to register for the benefits or get further information.
Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa said a proposed settlement of an antitrust lawsuit against three manufacturers has been reached with CIBA Vision that must be approved by a federal court in Florida on Feb. 27. Thirty-two states are still prosecuting similar suits against two other companies.
The proposed settlement with CIBA includes a $35 cash rebate to consumers, not only to purchasers of CIBA lenses.
