Excerpts from Rudin writings

Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 | 10:38 a.m.

These are excerpts from murder suspect Margaret Rudin's handwritten notes, allegedly taken after she bugged her husband's office:

July 7, 1994 -- "R. is talking to a woman at National Title, and he says, 'I'll take you to Europe w/me next time I go. Are you married?' and he goes on & on about how great Europe is, yet when we were there he complained constantly about everything!"

July 14, 1994 -- "R. told Oli, 'M's a tramp, just a tramp, what more can I tell you about her that's nice?"

"He acts like Dr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde to everyone's face and their worst enemy to their back."

Aug. 6, 1994 -- Rudin overhears business conversation between her husband and an unknown woman.

"He puts on his sexy voice and says 'it's been real nice talking to you.' "

Sept. 13, 1994 -- Rudin describes how another employee of her husband's has quit.

"He's so difficult and moody and phoney and a perfectionist and unrealistically critical of everyone that he's impossible to work for in the office he just bought."

Sept. 14, 1994 -- Rudin talks about a television program she has just watched.

"A TV program w/ Nicole Simpson's therapist, said the hard side of men who abuse their partner does not show up until they are in a relationship, then their dark side comes out. The hot beginning changes and they blame their partner for the change & take it out, emotionally &/or physically on the woman in their life if & when she dares to disappoint them. (It really touched me as I walk on egg shells all the time)"

Oct. 11, 1994 -- Rudin overhears a conversation between her husband and a woman she suspects he is having an affair with.

"R. tells her I've lost $50,000 in the antiques this past year & I'll probably stay another year so I can lose another $50,000. They laugh & make fun of me too."

Oct. 15, 1994 -- Rudin overhears her husband complaining to his bookkeeper about her letting a cleaning woman use his shirts as rags.

The bookkeeper said "She does it on purpose to kill you, she's a sociopath. I've read up on it, and she puts you under stress to kill you." Ron said 'Yah, some other woman told me the same thing yesterday.' "

Nov. 5, 1994 -- Rudin calls her husband to interrupt a conversation between him and his alleged lover. "I called him. He put her on hold and told me he was interviewing a carpenter on the phone and said let him wait while I talked to him. Then after a long talk said to me let me let him go and went back to her and said 'I've got to go, the other call is Margaret. Call me sometime." He again was not flirty nor friendly."

Nov. 8, 1994 -- Rudin describes a conversation between her husband and his bookkeeper. The death of one of Ronald Rudin's wives is mentioned.

"Last week Sharon told Ron 'Don't eat anything at the house. She is poisoning you. That's what's wrong with your memory. Anyone that would go do research to find out about Peggy's death is a very mental person. Look at the sick, sick things she told me about your mother. She's a socialpath."

(I research Peggy because Ron has always said he would hire someone to kill anyone that he considers to have crossed him, and he's saying it more, not less as the years go by.

Nov. 15, 1994 -- Rudin overhears another conversation between her husband and the woman she suspects is sleeping with him.

"She asked to see him, and he made plans to meet her at the above address at that address and time."
