Letter: ‘Crazy’ activists must be heard

It is unfortunate but the center includes citizens who do not vote, are not politically informed, have little deep ideology or do not care. Bipartisanship and governing from the center, ignoring the politically aware "crazies," may lead to government by committee.
If George W. Bush does govern from the center I hope he reduces our internationalist role and concentrates on our burgeoning problems: homelessness, hunger, the poor education system (15th among developing nations), helping the working poor, reducing corporate welfare and targeting this money to solve domestic problems first. Also, reduce the negative effects on U.S. employment from "free trade."
He doesn't have to accept the advice from the "crazies" but should factor their concerns in his decisions because they'll be watching and active.
