Letter: President’s song needs new title

I cannot stand by and see people so misinformed. According to an Associated Press article in the Dec. 22 Sun, Vice President Al Gore won the nation's popular vote in the presidential election by more than 500,000 votes. The popular vote total includes all absentee ballots that were counted in the weeks following the Nov. 7 election.
An Associated Press survey of all 50 states' final election numbers showed that Democrat Gore led President-elect George W. Bush by 539,947 votes.
In the case of Bush, it was the U.S. Supreme Court playing Santa this year. When Bush enters the room and the band strikes up the presidential song, those of us who are both fair and knowledgeable will hear "Hail to the Thief."
