Letter: Not ready for big-time
Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 | 9:10 a.m.
I enjoyed reading Ron Kantowski's column on Las Vegas becoming a football town. But as much as I would love to again be living in a football town, it's not realistic enough to begin talking about yet.
First, Las Vegas has a way to go before it can even claim to be much of a sports town. When a city of a million people is incapable of selling out its own bowl game featuring its (hometown) team in little (Sam Boyd Stadium) it's downright pathetic.
Football town? No. Dream of a dot-com or Liberty Bowl next year? Maybe.
