Letter: It’s not just ‘Loyola’
Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 | 9:11 a.m.
You obviously don't have much respect for UNLV's Wednesday night basketball opponent. In the early '70s, Loyola University merged with Marymount College to become the school it is today. Referring to the university as simply Loyola, while it will endear you to Loyola University grads who hated the name change (although most liked the idea of having women on campus, no doubt), is incorrect. It is simply Loyola Marymount University.
