Letter: Deregulation of energy will cost us dearly
Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 | 9:46 a.m.
As a homeowner, my electric bills had more than tripled for the year 2000. Now with the weather cooled off it's now the gas company's turn to stick it to the customers. They have received a rate increase as of the first of January, and this is only the beginning.
The best ideas I have heard as of late are wind, solar and nuclear energy. These may not be immediate solutions to power shortages but they will pay off for the little people in time.
