A Jan. 17 preliminary hearing date has been scheduled for a Las Vegas attorney accused of shooting his former wife to death Dec. 20.
Alfred "Chip" Centofanti III pleaded not guilty to murdering Virginia Centofanti during his initial arraignment in Justice Court Thursday. His bail was set at $250,000.
According to prosecutors, Centofanti shot his former wife between five and seven times on the same day he retrieved guns seized by police during an earlier domestic dispute with her.
In that incident, which took place Dec. 5, police arrested Virginia Centofanti when they found marks on Alfred Centofanti's face after responding to a domestic dispute.
The Centofantis had accused each other of making threats with a gun.
