Crackdown proposed on tax break
Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 | 10:46 a.m.
The Las Vegas acting planning director is proposing to crack down on the ways developers sometimes get around residential construction taxes.
The proposal by Robert Genzer would eliminate provisions in city code authorizing a developer to receive a refund of construction taxes already paid if that developer has built park facilities.
The proposal also includes detailed requirements regarding the building of park facilities in lieu of paying the tax.
The council's Recommending Committee will hold a public hearing on the measure Jan. 16 at 4 p.m.
