CARSON CITY -- Kimberly Maxson Rushton, who has been counsel to the state gaming regulatory agencies, has been promoted to chief deputy attorney general in charge of the Las Vegas office.
Rushton, 32, whose father, Bob Maxson, is a past president of UNLV, will supervise a staff of more than 100 but will continue to work with the Nevada Gaming Commission and the state Gaming Control Board. She replaces Richard Linstrom, who has returned to private practice.
The appointment was announced Wednesday by Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa, who also said that Senior Deputy Attorney General Charlotte Matanane Bible is being promoted to assistant chief deputy attorney general in the civil division. Bible has served in the attorney general's Las Vegas office since 1991.
She will supervise 10 deputies who represent a variety of state agencies, boards and commissions. She is the wife of Bill Bible, the former chairman of the Control Board and now president of the Nevada Resort Association.
