The transaction will affect 156,000 cable customers in Northern Nevada. Charter spokesman Andy Morgan today said the company has no plans to venture into the Las Vegas cable market, which is dominated by Cox Communications.

Charter is also buying AT&T Broadband systems in Alabama, Illinois and Missouri and swapping some systems in Florida to AT&T.
