Letter: Where is the great uniter now?
Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001 | 9:12 a.m.
The lunatics are now running the asylum.
Can you believe that Rep. Dan Burton is heading a congressional committee? He spent millions and six years on a manic-depressive's suicide (Vince Foster) after he and other Democratic haters drove Foster to it. Then to prove his own sanity, he took a high-powered assault weapon and shot a watermelon.
This is the same member of Congress who had to admit that he had numerous affairs and fathered a bastard child after trying to get President Clinton impeached for lying.
We just went through the most painful election in our lifetime. No offense to the Democratic haters, but it was a "shotgun wedding" -- although the Democrats did give Bush a traditional "honeymoon."
The same people who are hurting from the stolen election will turn the streets into combat zones if all this GOP hate and revenge doesn't stop. Where is that -- "I am a uniter, not a divider" -- now when we need it? Bush must be secretly stirring the pot.
Congress should get back to the people's business and forget this revenge. Clinton should have the same rights as any past president -- no more, no less.
