Elma Case

Elma Case, 94, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Washington state. A resident for six years, she was a retired teacher and nurse.

She is survived by one son, Larry Case; and one daughter, Elyse Shipley.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Lolita Cozzi

Lolita Cozzi, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; one daughter, Marilyn Guseff, one son, Dennis Cozzi, and two sisters, Celia Caponetto and Nancy Naples, all of Las Vegas; one grandchild and one great great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Edward J. Delaney

Edward J. Delaney, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born July 6, 1918, in Bloomington, Ill. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Army colonel, World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran who served for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanellyn; one daughter, Edean Calhoon of Lafayette, La.; one brother, Thomas Delaney of Mission Viejo, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Dresden David Diaz

Dresden David Diaz, 2, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Orange, Calif. He was born Nov. 23, 1998, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his father, Andre Diaz of Las Vegas; his mother, Tina Marie Diaz, and one sister, Cassie Lynn Hopkins, both of North Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Carolyn and David Smiley of North Las Vegas, Migdalia Garcia of Salt Lake City and Lole Pulou of Magna, Utah.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Thursday in the LDS Tule Springs Stake Center at Alexander Road and Ferrell Street. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert Farner

Robert Farner, 59, of Nevada died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 17, 1942, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for 46 years, he was a metallurgist in the mining industry and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy; two sons, Keith and Ken; two daughters, Lianna and Debra; one sister, Cheryl Clonch; and two grandchildren.

Bettie H. Gannon

Bettie H. Gannon, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Lakewood, N.J. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Bettie Morton of Mohave Valley, Ariz., and Laura Perry of Irvine, Calif.; one son, John Burbage of Las Vegas; one stepson, William Gannon Jr. of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Judy Allen of San Diego and Jetta Lennon of Morongo Valley, Calif.; one sister, Grace Cox of Portmouth, Va.; two brothers, William Hargrave of Annapolis, Md., and Louis Hargrave of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Linda J. Gelfand

Linda J. Gelfand, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1948, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 15 months, she was an office manager in the medical field.

She is survived by her husband, Howard; two daughters, Kara L. Bartoli and Jana R. Koubi, and her parents, Sam and Leah Keren, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Donna Davidson of Lafayette, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Jeanette Dorothy Huskey

Jeanette Dorothy Huskey, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 26, 1922, in Decatur, Ill. A resident for 38 years, she was a hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen L. Grist; and two grandchildren.

Howard Keogh

Howard Keogh, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1921, in Devils Lake, N.D. A resident for 62 years, he was a retired shift manager in the gaming industry, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Bridge Club.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Millie Horn-Keogh; and one brother, Peter Clair Keogh of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Richard A. Malkiewicz

Richard A. Malkiewicz, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Detroit. A resident for 25 years, he was a sales manager in the automotive industry.

He is survived by his wife, Aggie; three sons, Craig, David and Keith, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Donald L. Matson

Donald L. Matson, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service employee and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; one daughter, Sherill Allen of Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Dale Matson of Sonoma, Calif., and Clyde Matson of Sacramento; one sister, Louise Dutton of Carson City; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be private.

Albert J. Micheli

Albert J. Micheli, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Dalzell, Ill. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired hotel purchaser, Army veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge of Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E.; one sister, Delba Horsey of Las Vegas; and one brother, Foss Micheli of La Canada, Calif.

Services will be noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Carolyn Jean Nemsgern

Carolyn Jean Nemsgern, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Fort Madison, Iowa. A resident for 32 years, she was an elementary school teacher, a member of the Clark County Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She is survived by one son, Nicholas Anthony Nemsgern of Reno; her mother, Jean Dahms Whitcanack of Donnellson, Iowa; and two brothers, Scott Edward Dahms of Columbus, Ohio, and William Lee Dahms of Donnellson.

Visitation was scheduled 90 minutes prior to 4 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Michael L. Newberry

Michael L. Newberry, 42, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was a fabricator in the sheet metal industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia; three sons, Gary Lee Newberry of Ohio and Robert Weast and Aaron Weast, both of Las Vegas; his father, Arlie Newberry, and two sisters, Freida and Joannie, all of Ohio; one brother, Danny Newberry of Tennessee; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Wednesday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Roy Sherman

Roy Sherman, 66, of Sandy Valley died Friday in Sandy Valley. He was born April 25, 1934, in Portage Des Sioux, Mo. A resident for 24 years, he was an electrician for Clark County for 45 years and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Sherman of Chula Vista, Calif.; one daughter, Allison Seagle, and his mother, Josephine Yager, both of Sandy Valley; and six grandchildren.

George Gale Whitmore

George Gale Whitmore, 76, of Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday in a Tucson medical center. He was born Feb. 7, 1925, in St. Thomas. A former Las Vegas resident for 74 years, he was a retired truck driver for a weapons testing company at the Nevada Test Site, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by three daughters, Etta Gale Jelinek of Boise, Idaho, Annemarie Vallez of Henderson and Ramona Rooyakkers of Tucson; two sons, Victor Whitmore of Boise and Roxton Gale Whitmore of Henderson; two brothers, Sidney R. Whitmore of Las Vegas and Guy Whitmore of Overton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Cemetery, Overton. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joseph Wolper

Joseph Wolper, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1911, in New York.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; one son, Richard; one daughter, Donna; and two grandchildren.
