Rumblings along the Scrawl crawl:
Lucky guy.
Mr. Amp also states that anyone visiting Las Vegas considers attending an S&R show a "destination" in the same way tourists consider the Eiffel Tower a must-see when visiting Paris or the Statue of Liberty a must-see when visiting New York.
You can't argue there, although by signing a "lifetime" contract with MGM MIRAGE -- the formal announcement is tonight -- Siegfried & Roy have in fact reminded fans that nothing is forever. S&R's deal says they will continue a regular schedule at the Siegfried & Roy Theatre at the Mirage at least through 2004, but the feeling here is they won't be around long after.
If the anyone has longed to catch a Siegfried & Roy show, I'd start saving up now for the $100.50 ticket. Even the Magicians of the Century can't make Father Time disappear.
Spookily, young Roy -- circa 1975 -- bears an unnerving resemblance to Robert Goulet.
Nah. Can't be.
A woman called Tuesday to relate this sad-but-true saga: When she and her husband celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, their daughter presented them with a wooden wind chime that she'd carved and painted herself. The husband hung the keepsake out on the porch, deducing that's where the wind tends to blow at their condominium.
The couple soon heard from their HA and were ordered to take the ornament down because someone at HA determined it was an eyesore (in my experience, the only eyesores at my condo complex are the roving HA officials).
So the man threatened to sue the association. HA backed off, as any bully would. A victory for the little people.
That's position No. 89, sports fans. Mr. McMahon, set phasers on "stun."
You might as well wait for your flight and eat 14 little bags of pretzels. Same thing.
