Earl S. Abbott I

Earl S. Abbott I, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Oklahoma. A resident for 57 years, he was a contractor in residential construction and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Earl Abbott II and Thomas Abbott, and one daughter, Davida Dearing, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Orville Abbott of Albuquerque, N.M., and Richard Abbott of Duncan, Okla.; four sisters, Dorothy Stiles of Ada, Okla., Opheline Meyers of Shady Point, Okla., and Jean Sims and Joyce Scroggins, both of Moore, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 6 p.m. Saturday in Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St.

William Bacon

William Bacon, 64, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 14, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. A resident for 19 year, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Vietnam War and Korean War veteran, a member of the Zelzah Shrine and Sunrise Chapter of Order of Eastern Star and a 32nd degree Mason with the Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is survived by his companion, Mary Jane Reed of Henderson; one son, Marcus Bacon of Hawthorne; three stepdaughters, Sally Mirocke of St. Petersburg, Fla., Susan Johnstone of Miami and Sandra Millikin Tickle of Gibsonville, N.C.; his mother, Eva Shotis of Lake Wales, Fla.; his stepmother, Margaret Bacon of Charlotte; one brother, Phillip Bacon of Lansing, Mich.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 3 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Katrina Nicole Beltran

Katrina Nicole Beltran, 13, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 8, 1987, in San Francisco. A resident for 11 years, she was a student at Keller Elementary School, member of Jay Hawkins basketball team and she loved to play the piano.

She is survived by her parents Myrna and John Beltran, one brother, Kevin John Beltran, her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Beltran and Mercedes Tadeo, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Roslie Boykoff

Roslie Boykoff, 84, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born July 11, 1916, in New York. A resident for two years, she was a bench operator for a toy company.

She is survived by one son, Theodore Boykoff of Califon, N.J.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arranging.

Paulette Brimite

Paulette Brimite, 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 9, 1940, in Elmore, Ala. A resident for 32 years, she was a casino cashier.

She is survived by her husband, William; one son, Geary Stewart of Las Vegas; one daughter, Daphene Stewart; five stepchildren; four brothers, Joshaway Jackson of Buffalo, N.Y., Arthur Fields of Rochester, N.Y., Willie Fields Jr., of Phoenix and Elijah Fields of Buffalo, N.Y.; six sisters, Shirley Welch of Los Angeles, Azella Wilson of Norfork, Va., and Marie Knight, Celestine Fields, Johnnie Mae Hackney and Catherine Baker, all of Buffalo;

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Saturday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd., North. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Harrison-Ross Chapel. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Richard L. Foote

Richard L. Foote, 68, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1932, in Las Vegas. A resident for 68 years, he was a retired television repairman and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; four sons, Charles Franklin, David Franklin, Ricky Foote and Michael Foote, and two daughters, Agnes Young and Valerie Green, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Nina Foote of California; two brothers, Wally Foote of California and Jeffery Foote of Oregon; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John T. Hefferan

John T. Hefferan, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 10, 1932, in New York. A resident for seven years, he was a truck driver for the city government and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Maryann Fink and Kerry Mandrik, both of Maryland; four sons, John Hefferan of New York and Vincent Celano, Chris Celano and Michael Celano, all of Henderson; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 pm. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

James Robert Hicks

James Robert Hicks, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Ohio. A resident for 35 years, he was a bowling lanes mechanic and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters, Carolyn Stackman of Pennsylvania and JoAnn Eastman and Patricia Hicks, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Hicks and James J. Hicks, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Judy Gorby of Maine; and seven grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Leona Mae Hines

Leona Mae Hines, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for three years, she was a retired manager for the U.S. Postal Service.

She is survived by two sons, Edwin Hines of San Francisco and Irving Hines of Richmond, Calif.; one daughter, Rachael Hines of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Green of Suisun, Calif.; one sister, Marian Larkin of San Francisco; and seven grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Tabatha Monyell Hines

Tabatha Monyell Hines, 33, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 6, 1967, in Hermitage, Ark. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Sherrell Collier, Kendra Hines, LaKesha and Brittney Hines; her mother, Nora J. Hines; six sisters, Lora Hines, Wanda Hines, LaShon Munerlyn, Ayanna Black, Tyisha Simon and Tasha Blair, and seven brothers, Terry Hines, Timothy Hines, Wilbert Hines, Joe Hines, Matthew Hines, Eric Hines and DeMario Black, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd., North. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday in Harrison-Ross Chapel. Burial will be private.

Rory Thomas Jackson

Rory Thomas Jackson, 14, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 4, 1986, in Fresno Calif. A resident for four years, he attended Courtney Junior High School.

Services are being held in Fresno. Jesse Cooley Jr. Funeral Home, 1830 S. Fruit St., is handling arrangements.

Gladys 'Chub' Loux

Gladys "Chub" Loux, 79, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born May 22, 1921, in Bemidji, Minn. A resident for 39 years, she was an employee of the Desert Wear Ladies Dress Shop and the Boulder Dam Credit Union, a member of the DOES Lodge in Boulder City and past president of the Boulder City Women's Golf Association.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; three sons, Steve Loux of Spokane, Wash., Bob Loux of Dayton and Tom Loux of Reno; one brother, Robert Hickerson of Grand Forks, N.D.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming St., Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Alyne T. Preston

Alyne T. Preston, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 22, 1913, in Girdler, Ky. A resident for one year, she was a retired bookkeeper for an electrical engineer.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Carlyne Graves of Las Vegas and Alice Jones of Sacramento; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Wayne Webb Rader

Wayne Webb Rader, 94, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 19, 1906, in Fort Worth, Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired civil engineer for the federal government.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda; one daughter, Anne Kennedy of Roswell, N.M.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

William Carol Reed

William Carol Reed, 30, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 5, 1970, in Las Vegas. A lifetime resident, he was a plumber and pipe fitter and a member of Pipe Fitters Local 525.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Reed, one brother, Richard Lemon, and his grandmother, Gail Reed, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Bessie M. Roberts

Bessie M. Roberts, 94, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 28, 1906, in Tunas, Mo. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired practical nurse.

She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Tratos of Las Vegas; five sisters, Zella Barclay of Tunas, Ann Brown of Powell, Tenn., Mary Catilino of San Leandro, Calif., Bonnie Leath of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Berlia Martin of Fremont, Calif.; one brother, Paul Nissen of Garden Grove, Calif.;seven grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, Henderson. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Gregory H. Ross

Gregory H. Ross, 53, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 12, 1947, in Valparaiso, Ind. A resident for three years, he was a retired office supply salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Kris A.; and his mother, Donna B. Kiesler of Wheat Ridge, Colo.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Sunday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will be Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Deloras A. Ruffer

Deloras A. Ruffer, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born July 6, 1937, in Tucson, Ariz. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker and a gold medalist for competitive roller skating in the 1950s.

She is survived by her husband, Neal; two sons, Robert Ruffer of Phoenix and Russell Ruffer of Las Vegas; one brother, Raymond Helton of Cut and Shoot, Texas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Nathan Adelson Hospice, 3391 N. Buffalo Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

George Stokely

George Stokely, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 6, 1923, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired truck driver, World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Sullivan of Las Vegas; two sons, Bruce Stokely of Fairfax, Va., and Eric Stokely of Boulder Creek, Colo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial is private.

Jessie A. Weaver

Jessie A. Weaver, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 2, 1910, in Flagler, Colo. A resident for more than 30 years, she was a retired dental technician.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Weaver, and one daughter, Allie Lakey, both of North Las Vegas; one brother, Dr. Ross C. Huntley of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
