Letter: Lack of nurses could be eased
Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 | 10:24 a.m.
During World War II there was a critical nurse shortage. Our government responded by instigating the Cadet Nurse Corps. The recruited women, after passing entrance exams, entered nursing schools and were trained at government expense. In return they were required to enter some branch of military service upon graduation and passing "state boards."
Perhaps this procedure could be the answer or one answer to the nurse shortage today?
