Las Vegas area fishing report

Stripers weighing from 1-2 pounds are being caught at Las Vegas Bay, the Hemenway Wall, the 33 Hole, Saddle Cove and Sand Island. The Virgin Bowl and Stewart's Point have produced stripers for anglers who have been fishing in the Overton Arm.
Boaters are still netting shad in Las Vegas Bay for use as bait. Other methods being used are still and drift fishing with anchovies and downrigging at the 80-foot level.
One party of three boaters recently caught 16 crappie while spending an entire night on the water near Fish Island. Largemouth bass are being caught in coves in the Overton Arm and near Government Wash and Las Vegas Bay.
No success was found over the weekend at Cottonwood Cove. Rainbow trout are being caught following the trout plants at Willow Beach. The next plants are scheduled for today when fish will be planted from a barge at Willow Beach and Ringbolt Rapids.
