UNLV's track team is in Colorado Springs today for the opening day of the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships at the Cadet Field House on the campus of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Competition begins today with the pentathlon and continues through Saturday. The meet serves as the final chance to achieve NCAA qualifying marks for next month's NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
The Rebels' Michele Davis has established NCAA qualifying time is both the 200 and 400 and Tianika Sharrieff is an NCAA provisional qualifier in the high jump.
Garza went 7-for-17 (.411) with 3 RBIs, 2runs scored, 2 doubles and 1 triple in 5games last week.
Ellis went 2-1 with a 1.22 ERA in three appearances, including her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin. In seven innings of work, Ellis faced 27 batters and allowed six hits, struck out three and did not walk a batter.
