Nick Apostolec

Nick Apostolec, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1924, in Floyd, Ky. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired assistant general manager in the gaming industry, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose.

He is survived by three sons, Rocky Apostolec and Nick E. Apostolec, both of Las Vegas, and Brad Apostolec of Lancaster, Pa.; three daughters, Katina Locehmer of Lititz, Pa., Maria Apostolec of Lancaster and Jeanette Cruoz of Millerton, Pa.; two brothers, George Apostolec of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Chris Apostolec of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ann Ghelfi of Las Vegas and Thelma of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Leo 'Crow' Carranza

Leo "Crow" Carranza, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A resident for three years, he was a sheet metal worker, an Army veteran and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers 359 and American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Leon D. Carranza and Larry D. Carranza, two daughters, Wendy Carranza and Linda Cota, three brothers, Alfonzo Carranza, Angel Carranza and Simon Carranza, and three sisters, Victoria Maish, Connie Perez and Carmen Camacho, all of Arizona; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in Tucson, Ariz. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Leon Albert Harbert

Leon Albert Harbert, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 13, 1911, in Mount Vernon, Wash. A Reno resident for 30 years and a resident of Las Vegas for 35 years, he was a maitre d' in a hotel showroom.

He is survived by one brother, Melvin E. Harbert of Yuma, Ariz.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Zelzah Shriners Children's Transportation Fund, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106.

Russell Keith Nelson

Russell Keith Nelson, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 4, 1918, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for six years, he was a manager of City Laundry, an Army veteran and a member of the Elks in California.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Dennis Nelson of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one daughter, Susan Foster of Wildomar, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Lucille R. Nixon

Lucille R. Nixon, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for three years, she was a retired executive for an electrical contracting company and a member of Women's Brandeis.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin L.; two daughters, Wendy Loeb of Flossmoor, Ill., and Heidi Hersh of Las Vegas; one son, Richard Hersh of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Women's Brandeis.

Roberta Graham Pendergraft

Roberta Graham Pendergraft, 58, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 26, 1942, in Wisconsin. A resident for many years, she was a public school librarian.

She is survived by one brother, Don Graham of Alabama.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Joplin, Mo. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Christina Rosenblatt

Christina Rosenblatt, 31, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 25, 1969, in Kansas. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Morry; and her parents, Roger and Kathryn McMillen of Kansas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Wichita, Kan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Roger Paul Rozek

Roger Paul Rozek, 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 25, 1947, in Wausau, Wis. A resident for three years, he was disabled.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne May; two daughters, Kathryn Bernedette Rozek of Las Vegas and Jessica Lynn Zahrt of New Ulm, Minn.; two sisters, Elain Miller of Selma, Calif., and Debra Lipinski of Las Vegas; two brothers, Norman Rozek of Winnepig, Manitoba and Myron Rozek of Madera, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until 2 p.m. services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Decatur Eugene Stewart

Decatur Eugene Stewart, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1933, in New York City. A resident for three years, he was a retired computer programmer and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Mary Blake of Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jennie Lee Vaillancourt

Jennie Lee Vaillancourt, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Kellerton, Iowa. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Melody Mead of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
