Joe Delaney remembers 1982: Siegfried & Roy at the Frontier

Siegfried & Roy had already been proclaimed the "Superstars of Magic" and as having "undisputed Las Vegas crowd count champions" when they played the Frontier in 1982. This was the first of their starring productions that had been produced by Kenneth Feld, whose family owns Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Seven years later, in 1989, they spent time in Japan preparing for the opening of a second Feld production, "Beyond Belief," at the Mirage on February, 1990. If their claim as "crowd count champions" was questionable in 1982, the ensuing 11 years should have removed all doubt. Siegfried & Roy has made magic the No. 1 Las Vegas entertainment draw for the past two decades.
