Nellie Irene Aghas
Nellie Irene Aghas, 57, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 3, 1943, in Oklahoma. A resident for 41 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Earnest Smith of North Las Vegas, Jimmie Aghas of Henderson and David Smith and Jimmey Joe Aghas; three daughters, Jamie Aghas, Diana Aghas and Janet Aghas; her mother, Helen L. Washum; three brothers, Fay Washum Jr., Joseph B. Washum and William L. Washum; three sisters, Helen A. Mowery, Katherine L. Roemer and Sybil Y. Richardson; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the LDS Sierra Sunrise Ward. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Nick Apostolec
Nick Apostolec, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1924, in Floyd, Ky. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired assistant general manager in the gaming industry, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose.
He is survived by one son, Rocky Apostolec of Las Vegas; two daughters, Katina Locehmer of Lititz, Pa., and Maria Apostolec of Lancaster, Pa.; two brothers, George Apostolec of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Chris Apostolec of Las Vegas; two sisters, Ann Ghelfi of Las Vegas and Thelma of Boise, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Betty Ann Bokel
Betty Ann Bokel, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 8, 1908, in Baltimore. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Bokel-Siver of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was 10 a.m. Thursday today St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial was private. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.
Rose H. Clapp
Rose H. Clapp, 77, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Wheeling, W.Va. A resident for eight years, she was a retired administrative assistant for an automotive manufacturer.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R.; and one daughter, Pamela Korth Bonawitz of Los Angeles.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary W. Dee
Mary W. Dee, 66, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born March 22, 1934, in Muskogee, Okla. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired keno writer and a member of the Culinary Union.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Davis and Thomas Dee Jr., both of Henderson; two daughters, Susie Riley of Las Vegas and Deborah Dee-Lester of Kentwood, Mich.; one brother, Wesley Meadows of Fernley; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Linnea Hanson Dimitroff
Linnea Hanson Dimitroff, 55, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1945, in Billings, Mont. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by two daughters, Larae Knisley of Henderson and Jarilynn Hayes of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Vivi Hanson of Juntura, Ore.; and one brother, Trig Hanson of Phoenix.
Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Margarita Ines Heredia Dwyer
Margarita Ines Heredia Dwyer, 47, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born June 17, 1953, in Lima, Peru. A resident for many years, she was a hairdresser.
She is survived by one son, Michael Dwyer, and one daughter, Yvonne Heredia, both of White Plains, N.Y.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Katonah, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Mary P. Emmond
Mary P. Emmond, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Grand Forks, N.D. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired nurse who received a commendation for her work with the Sister Kenny treatment of polio victims.
She is survived by one brother, William F. Emmond of Las Vegas.

Fredrick Walter Finter
Fredrick Walter Finter, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Hillside, N.J. A resident for 17 years, he was a data processor for a sewing machine company.
He is survived by one brother, Edwin J. Finter of Washington, N.J.

Elizabeth Gilmartin
Elizabeth Gilmartin, 40, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 7, 1960, in Hollywood, Calif. A resident for 14 years, she was a health department supervisor and a Navy veteran.
She is survived by two sons, Michael D. Roberson of Louisville, Ky., and Daniel B. Roberson of Henderson; and one daughter, Samantha Roberson of Henderson.

Henry A. Hall, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 27, 1933, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for many years, he was a sheet metal worker, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Local 71.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; one daughter, Ellen Hall of Akron, N.Y.

Leon Albert Harbert
Leon Albert Harbert, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 13, 1911, in Mount Vernon, Wash. A Reno resident for 30 years and most recently a resident of Las Vegas for 35 years, he was a maitre d' in a hotel showroom.
He is survived by one brother, Melvin E. Harbert of Yuma, Ariz.

James Russell Hawkes
James Russell Hawkes, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1918, in Idaho. A resident for many years, he was a pharmacist and drugstore owner.
He is survived by one son, Alan Hawkes of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Carol Velardi of Orlando, Fla.

William David Hawkins
William David Hawkins, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1939, in Buffalo, Mo. A resident for several years, he was a bank president and a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Hawkins-Morales and Jamie Lee Hawkins, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Proctor Hawkins of Las Vegas and Phillip Hawkins of Buffalo; and one sister, Julie Patterson of Nixa, Mo.

John Janos
John Janos, 84, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Conneaut, Ohio. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired hotel beverage director and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; one daughter, Joie Janos Bloom of Henderson; two sisters, Elizabeth Chase and Evelyn Janos, both of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ariel James Larsen, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Logan, Utah. A resident for 32 years, he was a Clark County School District teacher and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Annette Larsen, Sharon Larsen and Kristi Larsen, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in the Meadows Room at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the LDS Grand Canyon-Desert Inn Ward. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Jean Littman, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1919, in Detroit. A resident for nine years, he was a retired general contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; two sons; and one daughter.

Amanda Martin, 13, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 12, 1987, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
She is survived by her mother, Stacey Goldberg, her father, Barry Martin, and one brother, David Martin, all of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Roberta and Ivan Ward of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Joan and Martin Watner of Las Vegas.

Donald Elroy McCurdy, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Flushing, Mich. A resident for six years, he was a retired security officer for an industrial security firm and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Toshiko; one son, Orval McCurdy of Las Vegas; four daughters, Evalyne Clark of Bellefonte, Calif., Gerri Schroder of Henderson, Roxane Unverrich of San Diego and Suzan McCurdy of Orange, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Susan Mary Pullen, 52, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 14, 1948, in Elgin, Ill. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired dealer and attended Basic High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Woodward of Las Vegas and Michele Jensen of Reno; one son, Michael O. Pullen Jr., her fiance, Robert Bussey, and one sister, Dawn McManaman, all of Henderson; six brothers, Terry Fritz and Michael Fritz, both of Pahrump, David Fritz of Petaluma, Calif., James Fritz of Bakersfield, Calif., Donald Fritz of Riverside, Calif., and William Fritz of North Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Emma Louise Ridgway, 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 11, 1951, in Middletown, Mo. A resident for seven years, she was a quality assurance manager for the Consumer Electronics Show.
She is survived by her husband, Greg; one daughter, Wendy Hurst, and one son, Mark Ridgway, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Helen Ridgway of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two brothers, John Hollensteiner of Simi Valley, Calif., and Jack Hollensteiner of Arkansas; four sisters, Mary Rogers of Ventura, Calif., Shirley Gallant of Simi Valley, Arlene Rouse of New Brunswick and Ruth Hollensteiner of Valley Village, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Roy T. Sorensen Jr.
Roy T. Sorensen Jr., 75, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Minneapolis. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired metallurgist for the Bureau of Mines, a World War II Army veteran and a 32-degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores; one daughter, Janet Trimbath of Boulder City; three sons, Dr. James Sorensen of Mendota Heights, Minn., and John Sorensen and Mark Sorensen, both of Boulder City; one sister, Sandra Starr of Lafayette, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be private.

Jack Winston Stader, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born June 11, 1930, in Indianapolis. A resident for nine years, he worked in advertising for 25 years, was an Army veteran, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 17 years and a member of Alpha Delta Sigma.
He is survived by his wife, Geri; one daughter, Jennifer Vasili of Downers Grove, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Lynn Moreno of Exeter, Calif.; one stepson, Scott Dunham; and three grandchildren.

Raymond Tagro, 50, of Las Vegas died Jan. 23 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1951, in Ivory Coast. A resident for 10 years, he was a hotel maintenance worker.

Walter Herman Weckwerth, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1922, in Thief River Falls, Minn. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired auto mechanic for the Clark County School District for 20 years, a mechanic for seven years at Oldsmobile and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Dearmore of Carson City; one sister, Enod D. Arne of Manassas, Va.; and one brother, Alan Weckwirth of Kansas City, Kan.

Katrina Jalena Zepeda, 6 1/2 months died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 2000, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, Michelle and Adrian Zepeda, one sister, Alexis Zepeda, and one brother, Adrian Zepeda, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Raquel and Mario Zepeda of Los Angeles and Yolanda and Leopoldo Parra of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 6 p.m. rosary Friday and 8:30-10 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Burial will be noon Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
