Letter: County liable for kids’ deaths
Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 | 9:20 a.m.
Booker claims he wouldn't have to pay out of his pocket if the county gets hit with a $15 million judgment from the results of a civil case that the families of the deceased children have filed.
His comment seems a bit puzzling. Who does he think pays for these judgments? Taxpayers! Is he not a taxpayer, too?
Booker also doesn't believe the county is responsible at all for those kids being open targets along the highway, even though the program has now ceased. To dissolve the program now seems to be an action of admitting guilt.
Hmmm ...
Something sounds fishy to me, too, Steve Williams.
