Rebels defeat last year’s NAIA champs

The UNLV baseball team defeated Lewis-Clark State, the defending NAIA National champions, 6-4, Tuesday at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The win improved the Rebels' record to 3-4 while the Warriors fell to 2-1.
Brad Beasley led UNLV, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Beasley had a solo home run in the sixth and a single to left in the eighth that gave the Rebels the go-ahead run.
Jake Gann started on the mound for the Rebels. He pitched five innings, giving up only one run on three hits. C.J. Martin (1-0) recorded the win. Martin pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up no hits with one strikeout.
