Perkins to attend conference for speakers

CARSON CITY -- Assemblyman Richard Perkins, D-Henderson, will attend a conference in Boston this week for new speakers in state legislatures.
The conference, which will run Thursday through Sunday, is sponsored by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, the National Speakers Conference and the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.
Perkins is one of 12 new speakers nationwide invited to the conference. In his absence, Speaker Pro Tempore Wendell Williams, D-Las Vegas, will preside over the Assembly.
