Charlotte L. Anderson

Charlotte L. Anderson, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1911, in St. Louis. A resident for nine years, she was a retired secondary schoolteacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Priscilla L. Campbell of Las Vegas; one son, Stephen E. Anderson of Alamo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Willow Creek Assisted Living Center, 3890 N. Buffalo Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Joyce Anglin

Joyce Anglin, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 3, 1937, in Terre Haute, Ind. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; one daughter, Terri Stone; four sons, John Wimsey, Pete Wimsey, Tim Wimsey and David Wimsey; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be in Texas. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mutsuko Arisue

Mutsuko Arisue, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 12, 1927, in Hawaii. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Blane Arisue of Las Vegas, Gary Arisue of Honolulu and Wesley Arisue of Kaneohe, Hawaii; one brother, Tad Suzuki of Kaimuki, Hawaii; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

William A. Austin

William A. Austin, 82, of Searchlight died Wednesday in Searchlight. He was born May 13, 1918, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Kauffman of Las Vegas; one brother, Walter Austin of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Joseph Brooks

Joseph Brooks, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 8, 1923, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired inspector for General Motors-Chevrolet Division, an Air Force veteran, a member of the UAW and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Misa; one son, Martin Brooks; and one daughter, Judy Brooks-Strickland.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Kathryn Joyce Brown

Kathryn Joyce Brown, 47, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Lansing, Mich. A resident for most of her adult life, she was born in Canada.

She is survived by her companion, Carl Harris of Las Vegas; her mother, Helen Mitchell Brown of Grand Ledge, Mich.; and one brother, Alex Brown of Eagle, Mich.

A memorial service was scheduled at 10 a.m. today in University Church Institute, 925 Desert Inn Road. Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, is handling arrangements.

Joseph Carter

Joseph Carter, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Whitley City, Ky. A resident for two years, he was a retired electrician for a public utility, a Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran and a member of Eagles Lodge 3448.

He is survived by his wife, Vaneda; three sons, Keith Starr and Jammy Starr, both of Burlington, Wash., and Charles Dutton of Bremerton, Wash.; three sisters, Joyce Marcum and Barbara Elmor, both of Whitley City, Ky., and Phylis Strunk of Sidney, Iowa; two brothers, John Carter Jr. of Bowling Green, Ky., and Ted Carter of Chelan, Wash.

Elsie G. Cooney

Elsie G. Cooney, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 15, 1916, in Asti, Italy. A resident for one year, she was a retired timekeeper in the silver industry.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol C. Taubert of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Linnea Hanson Dimitroff

Linnea Hanson Dimitroff, 55, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 26, 1945, in Billings, Mont. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Larae Knisley of Henderson and Jarilynn Hayes of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Vivi Hanson of Juntura, Ore.; and one brother, Trig Hanson of Phoenix.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Leon 'L.D.' Donahue

Leon "L.D." Donahue, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Shreveport, La. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired head custodian for the Clark County School District and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his companion, Genevia Baker of Las Vegas; two daughters, Doris Scott and Brenda Donahue, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Danny Donahue of Orem, Utah, and Mike Matthews of Denver; one stepson, Charlie Thornton of Los Angeles; his mother, Roxie Donahue, and one brother, Johnnie Donahue Jr., both of Shreveport; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in Unity Baptist Church, 545 N. Marion Drive. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

James Falcone

James Falcone, 59, of Pahrump died Saturday in Pahrump. He was born Jan. 31, 1942, in Palmdale, Calif. A resident for 50 years, he was a keno manager.

He is survived by one son, Howard Blake, and four daughters, Lori Swearingen, Rosie Falcone, Angelina Falcone and Maria King, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Frances Falcone of Pahrump; three brothers, Tony Falcone, John Falcone and Ralph Falcone, all of Pahrump and Rudy Falcone of Louisiana; and seven grandchildren.

Dominic J. Gennantonio

Dominic J. Gennantonio, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1917, in Coketon, W.Va. A resident for two years, he was a retired railroad trackman, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the volunteer fire department in Thomas, W.Va.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy LeCain of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Natalie Johnson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Louise Harmen of Woodville, Ohio, and Mary Buckley of Thomas, W.Va.; three brothers, Richard Gennantonio of Seminole, Fla., John Gennantonio of Loveland, Ohio, and Danny Gennantonio of Newburgh, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Albert L. Grant, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 29, 1914, in Monessen, Pa. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired automotive mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria L.; one daughter, Beatrice L. Galati of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marjory 'Dolyn' Harnack

Marjory "Dolyn" Harnack, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 26, 1911, in Vancouver, British Columbia. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired payroll clerk in the gaming industry and a member of Senior Friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Lois Buchanan of Delta, British Columbia, and Enid Sankey of Courtenay, British Columbia; and one brother, Philip Doran of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Jeanne A. Hogner, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 10, 1938, in Oshkosh, Wis. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired secretary in the aviation industry.

Byron Baur Johnson

Byron Baur Johnson, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Los Angeles. A resident for 2 1/2 hours, he was an electrician and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Terry Repp of Mariposa, Calif., and Heidi Elquist and Connie Graham, both of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Edward J. Kokosky

Edward J. Kokosky, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 25, 1935, in Bethlehem, Pa. A resident for three years, he was a retired energy coordinator in the steel industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rose Marie; two sons, Edward S. Kokosky of Bethlehem and David C. Kokosky of Las Vegas; one brother, Michael Kokosky of Bethlehem; and four sisters, Anne Laposky, Agnes Gaal, Frances Puhan and Dorothy Taglang, all of Bethlehem.

Jerimyiah Devon Goins Lyke, 11 days, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 1, 2001, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Lorinda and Jevon Goins Lyke of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Matthew and Jolette Goins and George and Jackie Lyke, all of Las Vegas; and his great-grandparents, Geraldine and William Goins of San Bernardino, Calif., Jeanette Williams of Las Vegas and Henry Jones of Calumet City, Ill.

She is survived by one daughter, Shannon Ashley Haffa, and her father, Henry Milar, both of Henderson; her mother, Lucy Tressler of Las Vegas; three sisters, Diane Romo and Donna Moss, both of Houston, and Patricia Yuen of Honolulu; and one brother, Val Yuen of West Virginia.

Jacqueline Nicholson-Eswonia, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Parker, Ariz. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlene Eswonia of Carson City and Lawanda Cushman and Susan Eswonia-Anderson, both of Las Vegas; five sons, Duncan Eswonia, Gerald Eswonia, Blanchard Eswonia, Dale Eswonia and Wendell Eswonia Jr., all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mike Pastore, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Denver. A resident for many years, he was an artist.

He is survived by one sister, Virginia Pastore of Las Vegas.

Jerry Poindexter

Jerry Poindexter, 34, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1967, in Texarkana, Ark. A resident for 14 years, he was a custodian.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Jones, and his father, Jimmy Boston, both of Texarkana, Ark.; two brothers, Joshua Pondexter of Chicago and John Pondexter of Las Vegas; and one sister, Grace Cheatham of North Las Vegas.

Robert W. Riley

Robert W. Riley, 79, of Greeley, Colo., died Monday in Greeley. He was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Keokuk, Iowa. He was an employee for Caterpillar Tractor Co., a postal worker in Illinois and a retired Nevada Test Site employee and served in the armed forces in Germany from 1941-1945.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Greeley; three daughters, Roberta Waltz of Georgia, Bonnie Reynolds of Texas and Gail Fuehrer of Colorado; two sons, Brandon Johnson of Portland, Ore., and Martin Johnson of Hood River, Ore.; three brothers, Joseph of Las Vegas, Harold of Keokuk and Harley of Brownsville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She is survived by one son, Carmen "Rock" Rose of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jacquie Rutkowski of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Barbara Terrace of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rose Solowitz, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Cleveland. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired bookkeeper in the furniture industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Priess of Las Vegas and LaVerne Hirsh of Henderson; one brother, Martin Louis of Cleveland; and three grandchildren.

Max Stock Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Max Stock Jr. of Elk Grove, Ill., and Stanley Stock of Las Vegas; two sisters, Josephine Kosowesky and Irene Murdock, both of Chicago; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mary Wells Terry

Mary Wells Terry, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 10, 1910, in Butte, Mont. A resident for five years, she was a retired county government secretary.

She is survived by three nephews.

Keith P. Turner

Keith P. Turner, 35, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 15, 1965, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a youth basketball coach for NOS Communication and volunteered his time working with the youth of the Doolittle Community Center.

He is survived by his parents, Rayford and Fannie Turner, and two sisters, Daaiyah Jolly-Boyd and Renee Turner-Bobbitt, all of Las Vegas; and five brothers, Herman Jackson Jr., Greg Jolly, Lavell Jolly and Michael Turner, all of Las Vegas, and Wayne Jolly of Seattle.
