Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., on Monday announced that Nathan Naylor, a former deputy press secretary for Vice President Al Gore, will be his new press secretary.
Naylor replaces spokesman David Cherry, a Las Vegas native who took a new post as press secretary for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, on which Reid serves.
GOP meeting
The Nevada Republican Men's Club will hold its general membership meeting 11:30 a.m. March 5 at the Ellis Island casino, 4178 Koval Lane. Call 363-3582.
Labor talk
The Paradise Democratic Club will meet 7:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at the Culinary Training Center at the Days Inn motel, 707 Fremont St. The guest speaker is scheduled to be Michael Chavez, resident officer in charge of the National Labor Relations Board. Call 363-2456.
