The UNLV baseball team dropped the third game of its series at UCLA, 11-2, at Jackie Robinson Field on Sunday to close the three-game set. UNLV dropped to 2-4 for the season, while the Bruins are now 6-2.

The Bruins' offensive attack included a 10-run second inning. UCLA's Bobby Roe (2-0) picked up the win. He pitched six innings and gave up two runs on six hits. UNLV's Robbie Van (0-2), in his second start of the season, gave up 10 runs on eight hits, all in the second inning.

The UNLV pitching trio of Doug Thornton, Chad Harris and Jake Gann shut down the Bruins the rest of the way, giving up only two hits for the remainder of the game.

Senior Trent Kitsch opened the fourth inning with a home run to center field. The Rebels scored again in the sixth on a Brent Johnson double to right-center, which brought home George Fletcher, who had reached on a double.

Brad Hertel went 3-for-4 for UNLV.
