Player's father to appear in court
The father of a youth football league player will appear in court Wednesday to answer charges that he poisoned numerous players in November.
Jerome Breland, 40, is accused of putting Ipecac, a plant extract that induces vomiting, into a water jug at a practice session of a Nevada Youth Football League team.
Eight children were treated at two local hospitals and released after getting ill when they drank from the jug.
The Nevada Youth Football League has teams for kids ages 7 to 15. Those who got sick were between 12 and 14.
He will appear before Justice of the Peace Nancy Oesterle at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Police search for wanted man
Metro Police homicide detectives continued today to search for a suspect in a fatal shooting inside a southeastern Las Vegas mobile home park Friday evening.
Stephen Douglas Gill, 24, of Las Vegas, is wanted in connection with the shooting that police believe happened after an attempted robbery at the mobile home park in the 3500 block of Estes Park Drive, near East Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.
Police found 26-year-old Riley Bates shot to death at the scene and 25-year-old Scott Dinwiddie suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dinwiddie was taken to University Medical Center and was listed in critical condition this morning.
Two men were seen running from the complex, and police searched for them, finding one on the Royal Links Golf Course, 5995 E. Vegas Valley Drive. Christopher Thomas, 23, was captured at the golf course. The suspects were known by the victims, who allowed them into the mobile home, police said.
Gill is described as white, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 200 pounds with blond hair. He has a tattoo of the word "Misfit" on the back of his head and a tattoo of a skull on his upper back. He is a registered ex-felon, and may be armed, police said.
Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call homicide detectives at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.

Child porn on computer
Officers of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation arrested a Las Vegas man for violating his probation after finding more than 35 images of naked children on the man's home computer.
John R. Stephens, 56, who received a suspended sentence and five years of supervised probation on Jan. 11 after entering a plea on two counts of possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of a person under 16 years old, was arrested on Friday.
Child pornography charges are pending against Stephens, according to a Parole and Probation Division spokesman.
