Execution stayed

Antoine Williams claims constitutional errors led to his 1995 conviction in the robbery-slayings of his neighbors, William Nail, 74, and Alice Nail, 72.
A panel of three judges later sentenced Williams to death. The execution had been scheduled for the week of Feb. 26.
U.S. District Court Judge Philip Pro on Thursday granted the stay to allow time for federal judges to review Williams' appeals.
Previous appeals in state courts have failed. Williams has claimed his confession was admitted at trial erroneously, among other issues.
Pro also granted Williams' request to be represented by a court-appointed lawyer.
