LV attorney named to PUC
Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001 | 11:23 a.m.
Gov. Kenny Guinn named Adrianna Escobar-Chanos on Wednesday to the state's Public Utilities Commission.
Escobar-Chanos is a Las Vegas attorney who currently serves on the Nevada Taxicab Authority.
A founding partner of the law firm Chanos Escobar Chanos, she succeeds Judy Sheldrew, who resigned in October.
Bob Anselmo, administrator of the Taxicab Authority, said Escobar-Chanos will resign her position with that board and it will be up to Guinn to appoint a replacement. He said he did not know who might be considered, adding that the status of the Taxicab Authority may change, since lawmakers are considering combining it with the Transportation Services Authority.
