Joe Delenay remembers 1980: Cher at Caesars
Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 | 9:15 a.m.
Cher was one of the Caesars Palace Circus Maximus' top attractions, sans Sonny Bono, at the start of the 1980s. She continues to be a major concert and recording star, appearing most recently last year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. At Caesars her act was contemporary and hot, a production show with elaborate costumes and effects and a large cast. Freddie Roman was a New York City-type, a storyteller of the first order, best known for Catskill-resort comedy revues that played to capacity crowds on both coasts.
