De La Hoya vs. Vargas set for Mandalay Bay

It's official: Oscar De La Hoya and Fernando Vargas will fight May 4 in the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, with the final details having been ironed out Sunday.
De La Hoya is the World Boxing Council junior middleweight champion and Vargas holds the World Boxing Association championship at the same weight, 154 pounds.
The two Los Angeles-area fighters are longtime rivals, with De La Hoya owning a record of 34-2 and Vargas being 22-1. Each man has a loss to Felix Trinidad.
Mandalay Bay has yet to announce ticket prices and availability.
