Community schools to host CPR classes
First Aid and CPR classes will be offered at several community schools through January.
Programs are planned:
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 12, Gibson Community School, 3900 Washington Ave. Cost is $35. Registration due Saturday. Call 229-5096.
6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave. Cost is $25. Registration due Jan. 9. Call 459-0201.
6-9 p.m. Jan. 23, Clark Community School, 4291 Pennwood Ave. Cost is $25. Registration due Jan. 16. Call 365-9272.
5-8 p.m. Jan. 28, Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road. Cost is $30. Call 229-2482.
Take educational hike with entire family
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:
Hike Leaders Choice: A moderate six-mile family hike around White Rock Loop, Jan. 4.
Morning Meditations: A moderate three-mile hike into Oak Creek Canyon, every Saturday beginning Jan. 5.
